Silvia Avallone
Silvia Avallone was born in Biella in 1984 and lives in Bologna. She has written a collection of poetry, Il libro dei vent’anni, and four novels: Acciaio (which won the premio Campiello Opera Prima and was the runner up for the premio Strega 2010), Marina Bellezza, Da dove la vita è perfetta and Un’amicizia. Under the same name, Acciaio has been adapted into a film (starring Michele Riondino and Vittoria Puccini), a play (by Swiss theatre company L’outil de la ressemblance) and a song (on the album Made in London by Noemi). Avallone writes for "Corriere della Sera", "La lettura" and "7". Her books have been translated in 25 countries.
