Silvia Avallone
Silvia Avallone was born in Biella in 1984 and lives in Bologna. She has written a collection of poetry, Il libro dei vent’anni, and five novels: Acciaio (which won the Premio Campiello Opera Prima and was the runner up for the Premio Strega 2010), Marina Bellezza, Da dove la vita è perfetta, Un’amicizia and Cuore nero. Under the same name, Acciaio has been adapted into a film (starring Michele Riondino and Vittoria Puccini), a play and a song (on the album Made in London by Noemi). Avallone writes for “Corriere della Sera”, “La Lettura” and “7”. Her books have been translated in 25 countries.
