Matteo Strukul

Matteo Strukul was born in Padua in 1973 and lives between Padua, Milan and Berlin. He is a novelist and comic strip writer. He has written many novels, translated in many countries, including Giacomo Casanova (Mondadori) and the four-part series I Medici - Una famiglia al potere (Newton Compton), which won the Premio Bancarella 2017 and has sold over 500,000 copies in Italy and abroad. His novel Paolo and Francesca (Newton Compton) was optioned by an italian production house and his latest book is La Cripta di Venezia (Newton Compton, 2024). In 2019 he published the graphic novel Vlad - Le lame del cuore with Feltrinelli Comics. Creator and founder of the literary movement Sugarpulp and artistic director of the festival of the same name, Matteo writes for various newspapers, including “Il Venerdì”  (issued with “la Repubblica”). His novels have been translated into over twenty languages.
