Massimiliano Virgilio

Massimiliano Virgilio lives in Naples, where he was born in 1979. He has written novels and other books, including Porno ogni giorno. Viaggio nei corpi di Napoli, published by Laterza’s “Contromano” collection. His novel L’americano (Rizzoli), translated in China, Russia and Japan, is about to become a TV series. For cinema, he has written the screenplays for Due soldati (by Marco Tullio Giordana), Nato a Casal di Principe (by Bruno Oliviero), Fortuna (by Nicolangelo Gelormini), Rosa Pietra Stella (by Marcello Sannino, Nastri d’Argento nomination 2021 for best story), and Ladri di cardellini (by Carlo Luglio). Since 2011 he has been one of the organizers of the literary festival Un'Altra Galassia. He is author for the programme “Zazà” on Rai Radio3. He writes for “Corriere della Sera” and “Corriere del Mezzogiorno”. His latest book is Luci sulla città (Feltrinelli, 2024).
