Giampaolo Simi has worked as a screenwriter for the TV series RIS and RIS Roma. He wrote Luce del Nord, a TV movie for Rai 2 directed by Stefano Sollima and based on one of his stories published in the anthology Crimini italiani by Einaudi. He has written many novels and his works have been translated into French and German. Cosa resta di noi (Sellerio) won the Premio Scerbanenco 2015 and Come una famiglia (Sellerio) won the Premio Selezione Bancarella 2019. In 2020 he released L’estate di Piera (a novel co-authored with Piera Degli Esposti), and in 2021 the re-edition of Rosa elettrica (first published by Einaudi Stile Libero), both for Sellerio. Based on the novel, now it is currently in production a tv show for Sky produced by Cross Productions. His most recent novels are Sarà assente l’autore (Sellerio, 2023) and Il cliente di riguardo (Sellerio, 2023).
