Daniele Mencarelli

Daniele Mencarelli was born in Rome in 1974. He is a poet and a writer. His latest poetry collection is Degli amanti non degli eroi, published by Mondadori in 2024. His first novel is La casa degli sguardi (Mondadori, 2018). In 2020 he published Tutto chiede salvezza (Mondadori), finalist for the Premio Strega and winner of the Premio Strega Giovani, that was adapted into a Netflix series of the same name (released in 2022). Among his works there are the two novels Sempre tornare (Mondadori, 2021) and Fame d’aria (Mondadori, 2023), and his first play staged Agnello di Dio. A film adaptation of La casa degli sguardi, directed by Luca Zingaretti, is forthcoming. He writes about culture and society for newspapers and magazines. His latest book is Brucia l'origine (Mondadori, 2024).
