Nanni Balestrini

Nanni Balestrini (1935-2019) was born in Milan in 1935. A poet, writer and artist, he lived between Rome and Paris and was one of the leading Italian literary figures of the late twentieth century. One of the founders of the “Novissimi” and “Gruppo 63” literary groups, he has published numerous poetry collections, essays and novels. His art works have been displayed at the MACRO in Rome and the Venice Biennale. His books have been translated in the leading European markets and in the United States. His last book, La nuova violenza illustrata, was published in 2019 by Bollati Boringhieri.
