Mariapia Veladiano

Mariapia Veladiano was born in Vicenza in 1960. She studied philosophy and theology and has worked as a teacher and headteacher. She is now a full-time writer. Her first novel, La vita accanto (Einaudi Stile Libero), won the Premio Calvino 2010, was runner-up for the Premio Strega 2011, and has been translated into French and English. She has since published more books including the novels Il tempo è un dio breve (Einaudi Stile Libero, 2012), Una storia quasi perfetta (Guanda, 2016) and LEI (Guanda, 2017).
