Giulia Caminito

She was born in 1988 and lives in Rome, where she graduated in political philosophy.
Her first novel La grande A (Giunti, 2016), dedicated to the life of two Italian women in the former Ethiopian and Erythrean colonies, won the Premio Bagutta Opera Prima, the Premio Berto and the Premio Brancati Giovani.
Her first book for children, La ballerina e il marinaio (orecchio acerbo), with illustrations by Maja Celjia, has been released in December 2018. In March 2020 she published Mitiche (La Nuova Frontiera) also for children. Her latest novel is Un giorno verrà, published by Bompiani in February 2019. In February 2020 she published I delitti di Monteverde. La prima indagine di Gerarda Greco (Giunti) written together with Stefania Fabri, her mother, and published under the pseudonym of Adele Colgada.
Some of her stories and articles have been published in magazines and newspapers like "Lo Straniero", "Gli Asini", "Nuovi Argomenti", "il manifesto" and "Il Sole 24 Ore". She also collaborates with "Letterate Magazine", the online magazine of the Italian Society of Literature, of which she takes part.
She has worked in the publishing world specializing mainly in contemporary and 20th century Italian fiction and in fiction for young adults.
